The best Texas style BBQ in Jefferson City!Friendly people in a renovated historic space in downtown Jefferson City, MO.We got the Boss Hogg meal with two sides which is enough for two people to share. I'm only sad I couldn't eat more. I will be back.Fantastic smoked sausage, good turkey, great ribs, great pulled pork, good brisket, great potato salad, good pit beans, and very good sauces.

We visited the west location. The female staff members were wearing short shorts, not professional.The pork, brisket, and turkey were good. The sausage was the BEST in JC and the ribs were horrible. Ours were burnt, crispy and black, the meat was as dry as could be, and as for flavor, we couldn't get past the burnt taste. The jalapeno grits and pit beans were GREAT! Best grits ever!

I finally had an opportunity to try this place for the first time tonight. Such a disappointment. I ordered the baby back ribs, but couldn’t eat them. They definitely needed to be cooked longer, as I could barely gnaw the meat off of the bone, and there was so much rub that it had formed a tacky paste on the ribs instead of a pleasing bark. I had really hoped that this place would be good, but after my experience tonight I think it’s safe to say that I won’t be returning.

For a local barbecue place it was pretty good. The staff was friendly and plenty of parking by the mall. Once we ordered the food came out in about 10 minutes. Overall the food was good and not overly smoked. The sweet KC barbecue sauce was pretty legit. My overall experience was pretty good and I would recommend anyone to visit

My husband and I absolutely love Sweet Smoke. We make the trip from Columbia at least once a month to eat their bbq. We prefer the downtown location but they are both delicious.

What a gem! Our first time was great.Old fashioned stand in line and staff brings it to your table. Clean, big portions, a sauce for all tastes, Family friendly AND... What a welcome surprise...a pretty comprehensive bar.We'll go again.They've got it right!!!

We LOVE Sweet Smoke and always have a hard time deciding what to order, even our kids eat their whole tray. Ordered fat pig sandwich, fatty brisket, no pork, 2 little pieces of sausage. Basically gave me asmoked turkey sandwich with beans.

The best BBQ in the middle of MO. I won't say it's in the same league as the best spots in Kansas City, because it's not. It's still quite good! Excellent beans & the jalapeno cheddar grits may be the best grits I've ever had.

Tried it for the first time via takeout (due to COVID). Great food, prompt service, and some awesome sauce. Can't wait to dine in.

Love this place! Very delicious! Never had anything bad here. Turkey and brisket is my favorite! Lunch time was very busy and they messed up our order, but they took care of it quickly and got it right then.

Good food, good pricing, great service. I left my debit card there, I called to ask if it was there and they picked it up and held it for me. Fair honest good people.

This place is my absolute go to for dine in or curbside. I discovered it during covid. I didn’t want to drive thru big corporations while local economies suffered. I love supporting local business and Sweet Smoke makes it an absolute pleasure!The grits are a must! I love the tacos and the brisket. The patio is perfect for those beautiful days outside. They also have a nice selection of beer.

Best BBQ anywhere and I am not kidding anywhere. There are 4 BBQ sauce choices and every one is excellent. Get the Boss Hog which is a sampling 5 meats, literally every one as fantastic as the other. The sides are all delicious. Try the jalapeno cheddar grits and the pit beans. Eugene is a great guy and will be happy to guide you through the menu. You would be making a huge mistake by passing this place by if you are anywhere within 100 miles if you love BBQ.

This was my first time trying Sweet Smoke BBQ and it met all my expectations! I live in the St. Louis area and will definitely be making more trips to Jeff City to eat here! It was yummy!

You can't go wrong with this place. All the way from the ribs to brisket, pulled pork, sausage, or turkey is some of the best meats you will ever have. My wife and I shared the Boss Hog which had a little bit of everything to sample their meats. This a great local restaurant that you need to visit.

Delicious!!! First time eating here, tried the Fat Pig and it changed my life!! BBQ beans on a sandwhich with every meat on the menu! It's a winner in my book! Quick service and friendly staff. Also 2 for 1 happy hour!! 🍺🍺

This place has great BBQ, classics and some out of the box creations. We were traveling through town and stumbled across it with total satisfaction. Fast service I'd your looking for a quick bite as well. Service was outstanding as well. Highly recommend!

Decent barbecue and friendly staff. The parking was nice (mall parking lot). The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating. The price was fair for the amount of food you get. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone wanting good bbq

Absolutely excellent. The burnt ends (at lunch, usually gone by not long after 11:30am) and the slop sandwich definitely rise to the top for me. My wife loves the pulled pork nachos. Top side is definitely the pit beans. A must try. A note on the jalapeno cheese grits, these are usually a favorite for me at most places that have them. Here, I found them to be too liquidy, and not quite what I wanted on the flavor profile either, but still fine. All around, this is in my top 10 all-time BBQ places for sure. Maybe not top 5, but definitely top 10. Absolutely the best anywhere between KC and STL for sure. Always worth a stop. Great beers on tap too, and a cool atmosphere. Plus, and this is important on workday lunches, they are quick! Very fantastic, keep up the great work, y'all!

Awesome brisket, pitbeans, tried grits for the first time and they were good. You have to stop and try this BBQ.

I am sure I will be visiting here again. The brisket had great flavor and texture was excellent. The turkey had a nice smoked flavor and was still moist. Ribs had a rich smoke flavor and were nicely finished; tender yet not falling off the bone. Pulled pork was good. Sausage for me was unremarkable but good. Overall, I would recommend giving them a try. Glad to see another BBQ place in town. Staff was very friendly.

Always tasty. But get there early or call ahead to make sure they have what your want. Staff is very knowledgeable.

Great place for downtown BBQ. I did the Brisket Sandwich with Cheese Jalapeno Grits for just under $12.Clean restroom with a nice smell of smoked meats in the air. Nice smiling people working here. I would come back again! They even serve beer!

Well, it's a mixed bag. The atmosphere is decent, music is good. The meat proportions v. price definitely favors the house, but foods good just little scarce on the plate.

Holy smoking meats this place is delicious. The smoked sausage was amazing not too juicy but not dry either, pulled pork delicious and the ribs, the ribs were easy off the bone but not falling off, I wish I was not full I would order more!

Sweet smoking bbq #2 in Jefferson city is now open and it was fantastic from the friendly service, to the great food and for 2 people to eat we got the Boss Hogg sampler with a full portion of pulled pork, sausages, turkey, brisket, and ribs plus 2 sides with leftovers enough to take home for a third meal it was great. Looking forward to going back. THANKS

Great place for lunch! But get there early if you want their fabulous burnt ends.

Great place for a quick bite and drink. I recommend the I ❤ Texas Tacos with a side of Jalapeno Cheddar Grits and Elusive IPA Smoke-free atmosphere.

Mediocre at best. BBQ sauces were runny like water, meat had a slight smoky flavor but just not there. Pit beans were basically Pork n beans with a bit of smoked meat thrown in and some of their bbq sauce. Potato Salad was good. I was told to NOT help myself to refills of pop but after waiting for 5 minutes I did it anyway. The 2 kids running food out were too busy to help refill. Next time I will go back to Lutz's... Unless a Famous Dave's comes to this town.

The brisket sandwich was tender and cooked perfectly. The pit beans are delicious. The different types of meats in the beans added extra flavor. The sauces were a little disappointing. The employees were friendly. The food was served fast and hot. There is a wide selection of craft beers, as well.
